Celebrating 100 Years: Thelma Vineyard, a Half-Century RMF Member

There are milestones, and then there are milestones. This month, East Knoxville resident Thelma Vineyard reached one that few of us ever will — her 100th birthday. And the Rural Metro Fire family was honored to be there to celebrate it with her.

What makes the day even more special is the history behind it. Thelma has been a Rural Metro Fire member for nearly 50 years — half a century of trusting us to help protect her home and the place she's spent so much of her life. That kind of loyalty isn't something we take lightly. It's a relationship that spans generations of firefighters, a changing community, and countless quiet moments of peace of mind that come from knowing help is there if you ever need it.

Members of our RMF team gathered to mark the occasion, sharing stories, well-wishes, and a whole lot of admiration for a woman who has seen a century of life in East Knoxville. Reaching 100 is remarkable on its own. Doing it surrounded by neighbors and friends who genuinely care for you is what makes a community feel like home.

From all of us at Rural Metro Fire: happy 100th birthday, Thelma. Thank you for trusting us all these years — it has been our privilege to serve you, and we look forward to many more visits ahead.

Here's to you, and here's to the next chapter
